- What size expandable plug do I order?
- It’s very simple; you order the size of whatever
inside diameter of hole you are trying to plug. Our expandable plugs are designed to be slightly smaller
than the proposed inside diameter.
EXAMPLE: 2 inch diameter hole, you will want to order a 2
inch expandable plug.
- How much does your
expandable plug expand?
- Our plugs expand from 8-12%.
- Are your expandable
plugs pressure rated?
- No, it is very difficult to give a pressure
rating due to the surface you are applying the expandable plug is not known.
This surface could be porous and non-porous, free or non-free of debris. We
recommend that you do not use for applications 15 PSI or higher.
- What is the rubber
of the expandable plug made out of?
- Neoprene Rubber which is an all purpose polymer.
Neoprene is NOT recommended for gasoline, oxidizing acids, esters, ketones, chlorinated aromatic and nitro hydrocarbons.
- Do you make
expandable plugs for gasoline, high-temperature or food applications?
- YES! We use Buna-Nitrile rubber for gasoline applications.
Silicon is used for high-temperature applications and FDA rubber is used for
food applications. As well as many other rubber compounds. These are classified
as a specialty plug which has to be ordered direct, if the rubber is not in
stock the lead-time may be 5-7 weeks and/or lot charges for low volume orders
if we are out of the rubber. These plugs are made to order.
- Is there a
lead-time involved with your plugs?
- For our off-the-shelf
expandable plugs (which are shown on this website) there should be NO LEADTIME and will ship within 3 days
of the order.
- Can I get your
plugs in all stainless steel?
- YES! We do offer all plugs in a stainless
version for corrosion protection. This type of plug is classified as a specialty
plug which may have a lead-time involved and a set up charge if item is not in
stock. These plugs made to order.
- Do you ship outside the United States?
- We
can only ship outside the Unites States if you have your own UPS, FEDEX or DHL
account number to charge all freight charge against. We do impose a $75 minimum
order due to you will have to contact us directly and we have to manually run
the order.
- What is the best plug for my application?
- This is very difficult to answer without
specifics, if you need help with determining what is the best expandable plug

- Are these the cheap imitations plugs from China?
- No way! We are the manufacturer and our expandable plugs are manufactured right here in the United States. Our plugs are manufactured with cold roll or stainless steel and designed to stand up against the harshest environments. We manufacture over a million plugs a year which makes us the industry leader and the reason why we are successful is the quality of our product.
